We have just had the best weekend!  We started it with a performance in Whetstone High Road, by the Love Whetstone Christmas tree.  Despite a bit of a struggle with the new amp, and the noise of the traffic, we had a lovely warm reception from the local's in Whetstone who all seemed to enjoy the performance.  It was very cold but with a bit of a sway and some adrenaline, we managed to stay warm.

On Sunday we were honoured to be asked to sing for Barnet's Mayor, Councillor Brian Salinger, pictured.  He was tapping his toes and singing along to every number.  When asked if he'd like to join us his reply was 'I'm not even allowed to sing in the shower at home! and for very good reason!'  It was a pleasure to meet him and to perform at his arrival.  Let's hope it got him into the festive spirit.

We then moved on to perform in the new courtyard at the Spires shopping centre.  I have a feeling most members had probably warmed up with a nice glass of mulled wine, I know we did!  Who knew that mulled wine laced with Amaretto was so delicious!

We had an amazing response from those who stopped to listen and watch our performances.  We've even had some new enquiries from potential members who want to join us in January.  And we mustn't forget to thank our lovely family members who took photos, videos and collected for Cancer Research UK.  We raised nearly £400!  Amazing work everyone....

Now for the big one on Thursday.  At least there won't be too many nerves from our new members.  It was so lovely to hear how much they all enjoyed the experience, and how they can't wait for the next one.  I seem to remember each and every one of them telling me in September 'we will not be performing!'  They thought we were crazy even asking them.  That shows how fantastic our Musical Director and choir leaders are, they've done wonders in a very short space of time with quite a few new members.  Thank you to James and Ash.

Lastly I would like to thank my amazing husband Andy who turned his hand to directing all 3 of our performances over the weekend.  The compliments have been coming in thick and fast, I just hope it doesn't go to his head - he'll be handing over to James on Thursday, but it's nice to know we have a back-up when we need one.

We look forward to entertaining you on Thursday if you have tickets.  If not, you can catch us on 9th December at the East Barnet Christmas Fair!
