About The Big Choir

The Big Choir is a community fundraising choir that was formed in February 2016 with the aim of raising money for Cancer Research UK, and in particular The Francis Crick Institute, a fantastic research facility in Kings Cross, London.

Money is raised through weekly subscriptions from our members who come along to the sessions to learn some great songs, meet new friends and generally have a fantastic time.  We've performed at several events and have enjoyed watching our members forge new friendships and grow in confidence whilst rehearsing for various performances and events.  To date we have donated £40,000 to The Crick for Cancer Research, something we are all very proud of.

Our current membership is around 140 strong.  Our choirs meets every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at either Martin School (Monday evenings)  St Pauls Church in Winchmore Hill (Wednesday evening) or in the beautiful auditorium at East Barnet School (Thursday evenings).  And we have a day time session at St Stephen's Church Hall in Enfield too. We're a really friendly group and love a good social!

We are here for anyone who loves to sing.  There are no auditions, and many of our members haven't sung since they were at school.  All we ask is that you are able to commit to learning the songs and harmonies to the best of your ability, and to come along to sessions as often as you can, preferably weekly so that the choir can learn as a group at the same pace.  We perform modern pop but hope to try out other genres including gospel over the coming months.

We can offer a free taster session to anyone who would like to give us a try.  Please email info@thebigchoir.org
